As 2024 comes to a close, we are taking a moment to celebrate an amazing year for Remarkable. This year has been filled with innovation, collaboration, and growth as we worked together to empower Disability Tech innovators.
Let’s reflect on everything we have accomplished together!
Our Remarkable Impact: Creating An Inclusive Future
At Remarkable, our mission is clear: we empower Disability Tech innovators with the training, capital and community they need to create a world that is accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Since starting our journey in 2016, we have grown into a global hub for Disability Tech, offering programs that support innovators throughout their journey.
This year our impact has continued to grow: 50 startups joined the Remarkable community, reaching 68,000 customers and raising $25 million in investment.
These aren’t just numbers, they’re stories of innovation, inclusion, and change, powered by a thriving community of innovators, mentors, and supporters.
Our Programs: Empowering Innovators At Every Stage
In 2024, we supported some incredible Disability Tech innovators through our key programs:
- Launcher Program: 38 early-stage startups from across the world (from Australia to Azerbaijan!), supporting these innovators from the beginning of their startup journey to validate their idea or solution. Learn more about the 2024 Launcher Cohort.
- Accelerator Program: 9 outstanding startups from around the globe, helping them to grow into successful, positive-impact businesses and make a real difference. Learn how the 2024 Global Cohort and 2024 US Cohort are driving change.
- Scaler Co-Investment: 5 Seed to Series A stage startups, received investment supporting them to scale their impact.
- Jessica King Fellowship: 3 aspiring entrepreneurs with lived experience of disability were selected to explore the world of startups with Remarkable. Meet the 2024 Jessica King Fellows.
These programs are at the core of what we do, providing innovators with the tools, training, and connections to turn their ideas into real solutions.
Our Networks & Community: Building Meaningful Connections
At Remarkable, we know that collaboration makes innovation even better. This year, we focused on growing our community and strengthening the networks that help Disability Tech startups succeed. These connections are helping us create a thriving community where startups, industry leaders, and the disability community can grow and work together. Here are some highlights:
- Remarkable User Feedback Community: We launched a platform to connect innovators with people who have lived experience of disability, making sure the solutions they create meet real needs.
- New Partnerships: We welcomed onboard our new Supporting Partners, Canva, LaunchVic and Adobe, to collaborate with to create exciting new opportunities for our startups.
- Toyota Tech Immersions: In January and September, we brought 10 early-stage startups and 2 CPA Research projects to Toyota’s Centre of Excellence in Melbourne for a 2-day intensive immersion. Our startups collaborated with Toyota’s top engineers and designers, to help refine and fast-track their product development.
- Canva Design Day: Some of our Sydney-based startups including ByStorm Beauty, Sameview and Sound Scouts, joined us at Canva, along with other social impact innovators, for education and ‘jamming’ sessions with Canva designers to elevate our respective brands and communications.
- Remarkable Demo Day Events: This year, we proudly brought back in-person Demo Day events for our Accelerator Program, including the US Cohort Demo Day at Perkins School for the Blind and the Global Cohort Demo Day at Salesforce Tower. It was incredible to see founders pitching live, connecting face-to-face with investors, partners, and supporters, and showcasing their innovations. Check out some of the highlights from the Global Cohort Demo Day below!
