Loop+ is an activity tracker for wheelchair users that remotely monitors the risk and care of injury. Sensors in the wheelchair continuously track seated position, pressure, temperature and general activity with personalised alerts that fit into the user’s everyday life.

What inspired you to start this?

Loop+ is the result of two passionate sisters. Clare’s son Evander, was born with a neuroblastoma tumour that left him paralysed. Nothing was available on the market that helps Clare to track his functional recovery. So we built one!

What’s the biggest challenge you’re facing with building your startup and how do you think Remarkable can help you overcome this challenge?

We are new to the health space and need guidance on all matter of regulatory governance and pricing matters from government to health systems.

What parts of the accelerator are you most looking forward to? Are there any parts of the program that you’re nervous about?

We’re looking forward to being part of a broader team of people going through the same journey; sharing our lessons and expertise. Already, everyone in Remarkable has been so generous with their recommendations and connections.

Do you have any tips for startups who are trying to get on an accelerator program?

Passion and commitment to solve a big problem.

What is your top tool, blog, book or podcast that you’d recommend others look at?

You need a lot of resilience and perseverance to found a company. I love listening to founder’s journeys in two podcasts – How I Built This and From Scratch.

How are you feeling at this stage of the program?

Every day at Remarkable brings new opportunities. We just mention an area of need and in a few days we have support. So grateful. Also give Margaret a cape because she has super powers!
